Pet Travel
There are certain guidelines and requirements that you should know if you are planning to travel with your pet.
If you are traveling to another state in the United States, you should check with your airline for what their requirements are. Some airlines will require a rabies certificate, others may require an Aphis 7001 Form to be filled out by a veterinarian. If they require an Aphis 7001 Form, we must examine your pet before providing this form to you.
If you are traveling internationally, there are certain rules and requirements that are not only different for each country, they are also changing constantly. Traveling with your pet has become more complex than before and we recommend that you check with the following entities.
1. The USDA. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/pet-travel
2. Center for Disease Control.

3. The airline that you will be traveling with.
Most countries will require a physical exam by a veterinarian. They will all require a valid rabies vaccine. Some countries accept a 3 year Rabies while others will require a Rabies vaccine administered within 365 days, regardless of whether your pet has the 3 year Rabies vaccine or not. The United States may deny re-entry due to a rabies vaccine that was not given in the United States. Some countries require certain blood tests be completed before travel. This is why it is imperative that you take the time to research what is required by the country of destination. Also, there is now a new certificate required to return to the United States. The 2 links above will give you the information you need to move forward with your travel plans.
You should visit these links before each time you travel because as stated before the information changes and is updated constantly.
