Dr. Steve Eastman
Veterinarian
Dr. Steve Eastman graduated from Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He came to Key Biscayne in 2003 and has since been the owner and sole veterinarian of Island Veterinary Hospital. He volunteers his time for several local stray cat programs and rescue organizations, and for the local police and fire departments, the neighboring county and state parks, and the Miami Seaquarium.

Tina Day
Practice Manager
Tina Day graduated with a degree in psychology in 2000, while working as a social worker for the state of Florida. In 2005, Tina decided she would rather spend her days helping animals and moved to Miami to begin working as the practice manager for Island Veterinary Hospital.

Daniel Delgado
Veterinary Technician
Daniel began working in veterinary medicine at the age of 14. He has experience with exotic animals such as Reptiles, Large Cats, Birds and Marsupials. He also has over 10 years of experience working in Animal Emergency Rooms. In 2003, he came to work with Dr. Eastman just a few months after he acquired the hospital. He has been part of the Island Veterinary Team since.

Sabrina Sarmento
Dr. Sabrina Sarmento is a Brazilian veterinarian with a Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and over 20 years of international experience in animal health, reproduction, and welfare. Now beginning her degree validation in the U.S., she combines her scientific background and clinical expertise to provide exceptional veterinary technician services, offering compassionate, high-quality care built on trust and empathy.

Romi Hernandez
Romi is a veterinary technician-in-training with a big love for animals. He's a little shy but very caring, and he always does his best to make every pet feel safe and loved.

Gabriella Santamarina
Receptionist/ Veterinary Student
Gabriella is currently pursuing her Associate of Arts in Veterinary Science at Miami Dade College. She is passionate about animal health and looks forward to continuing her education in veterinary medicine.

Briana Benitez
Receptionist
Briana is currently pursuing her dream of becoming a Veterinarian. She has two rottweilers that she spends all her time with and loves working in the animal industry.

Hilary
Receptionist
Hilary has a deep passion for helping animals, especially those with behavioral challenges. Dedicated to rescue and rehabilitation, she shares her home with three dogs and a cat who inspire her everyday.
